A SuperActive life: finding the Key
Exactly one year ago today…
I lost a key….
A small thing — a pain in the ass, but nothing major, typical me.
But losing that key turned out to be one of the most important things I’ve ever done.
I went to see my colleague Pia to sort out a replacement key. And boy oh boy did I get one.
She started telling me her story — about her lifelong struggles, her ADHD diagnosis, and how everything began to make sense for her.
And as she spoke, I felt a tear running down my cheek.
Because she wasn’t just telling her story. She was telling mine.
For years, I’d been searching for an answer… but I didn’t even know what the question was.
That conversation — that moment — it changed everything.
Until then, I thought ADHD was just an excuse. A label slapped on hyperactive kids to justify bad behaviour and medicate them into silence.
But as I dug deeper, something clicked:
This wasn’t a disorder.
This was the source of my fire, my drive, my creativity — and yes, my beautiful chaos too.
ADHD wasn’t the problem, It was the reason for my awesomeness!
That same day — May 15th, 2024 — I bought the domain name: SuperActiveMind straight away
And for the past year, I’ve been building SuperActiveMind — obsessively(or SuperActively as I like to say).
Last week, I finally started telling the world.
What Pia did for me in that moment… I’ll never forget it. She gave me “the key” I’d been looking for all along.
Now I want to pay it forward — to help others like me realise:
You’re not broken. You’re awesome! You’re Superactive.
And if you can learn to harness it, it’s your greatest gift.
That day, I lost a key, but found THE KEY!
Thank you, Pia. You changed my life. And you’ll always have a special place in my heart.
Here’s to joining the dots,
Scott
